How does it Work?
The Vortechs® System captures pollutants from runoff and protects
waterways like Mirror Lake from damaging, contaminated water flows. The
EPA award-winning systems utilize a patented combination of vortex
motion and flow controls to remove pollutants, such as contaminated
sediment, oil, grease and debris (such as trash) from storm water
runoff.
Several storm drains can feed a single Vortechs® Storm water
Treatment System, which captures pollutants before discharging the storm
water into the lake. Additional filtration products are not
required ... just the periodic clean out of accumulated contaminants by
the Water & Sewer Department's vacuum truck.
